Our 1920s letterpress is the heart and soul of the studio. A genuine antique, with generations of experience under her belt, she is the picture of romance all on her own. Having been lovingly restored, she continues to print at the highest standard, infusing each piece with a touch of history and nostalgia.
Bodega Press (for those unfamiliar with the Spanish word bodega, meaning winery) is named after the centuries-old establishments found throughout the south of Spain dedicated to the skilled art of winemaking. Inspired by the history and tradition surrounding the production and ageing of wine, the founder of Bodega Press settled on a name which recalled her own memories of Spain, as well as conveyed her love of vintage design and traditional craftsmanship.

Printing with an antique press is a uniquely tactile experience. We handle each piece one by one, from beginning to end, considering every detail, from design to finished product. Because the process is 100% hands-on, we quality check each individual piece to ensure it meets our high standards.

For me, travel and creativity go hand in hand. Travel teaches us resilience, courage and ingenuity. It opens our minds and fortifies our connection with the world and those living in it. Travel has shaped me as a person, which is how I know it influences my approach to design.
My love of art began as a young child. I discovered a passion for editorial design and earned a degree in Design for Publishing. However, I still felt like there was something missing. I came to realize it was the ability to make, to physically produce something. Up until then, my creative process began and ended behind a computer screen. Since finding and falling in love with letterpress, I am finally able to enjoy total creative fulfillment.

To some the process may seem out of place in this modern world. However, the handcrafted quality and luxurious textures achieved by printing on an antique letterpress are unmatched by any other printing method. Being the most hands-on technique, letterpress is not only the most demanding, but also the most magical.
